SIV/Acro Maneuvers course - Oct 10-17
Intensive, fast-paced, small-group maneuvers course in the best training location on the planet
Service Description
The purpose of this course is to give every pilot ample opportunity to not only learn and experience new maneuvers, but to have the necessary airtime and repetition required to truly understand them and fly with proficiency. You are not renting these skills for a week only under instructor supervision - the goal is to learn and perfect new maneuvers so that you truly own them and can continue to use them throughout your flying career after the course is finished. To make this possible, this is a small group course of only 4 students. This enables the group to move quickly with minimal wasted downtime, have extensive amount of face-to-face instruction and debrief, and to spend most of the day flying rather than waiting for your turn on launch. Every pilot will be on their own training progression plan, customized according to their abilities, ambitions, and aptitude, and learning pace. Course schedule: Day 1: Site familiarization free flying warm-up, travel decompression, and evening maneuvers/safety briefing Day 2-4: Coaching day - 3 coached runs per day, weather permitting, typically finishing by 2pm. Remainder of the day is left open to self-directed free flying practice, with an evening video debrief. Day 5: Designated rest day or free flying day at student's discretion Day 6-8: Coaching day with afternoon free flight On a typical coaching day, we meet in the morning and briefly review the training plan created from the previous evening, each student flies sequentially, receiving 1-1 instruction via radio. Once the 4th and final student is landed, we go back up the mountain for a 2nd run. We aim to complete 3 runs a day in this format, weather permitting, and then release everyone for free flying or rest for the remainder of the day. Managing psychological fatigue is very important for safety and optimal information retention, so the afternoon rest periods and designated rest day are intended as decompression opportunities so that students do not feel pressured to stress themselves, but are provided the option for additional training if they choose to do so. Self-directed solo runs during these times are encouraged so that the student can gain more practice and confidence in executing maneuvers without instructor assistance. Booking: To book, please use the contact form and provide a description of your goals and experience so that I can ensure you are a good fit for the course. Booking is confirmed once payment is received in full
